Douche move. Very bad behaviour. Something that guy should be held accountable for.

But calling him names and assassinating his character?

You people need to think about this for more than the fraction of a second you usually spend considering what you say.

This was a guy that Do-over was falling for. She cared about him deeply, and invested a lot of time in trying to grow and adjust in a complicated, adult relationship. By criticizing the person as you are, you are calling into question HER judgment and ability to assess the situation. You’re driving the point home that you think she doesn’t know any better than to date an asshole. You’re effectively calling her a moron.

It would behoove you to consider your words more carefully, and criticize the behaviour rather than slam the person for making a colossal mistake. Then, you might look just a little less douchey yourself in the cold light of the new year.
